As flight started at midday, we flew with the sun towards west. This time over Greenland as well.
This haze in the stratosphere might be an aurora.
View of Canadian prairie before entering the cloudy Rockies.
Below the clouds close to Vancouver.
Arriving in Downtown Vancouver.
Greetings from the first rain.
Interesting building. To be commented by Matej :)
Rainy morning in Gastown.
This first historical city centre was named after Gassy Jack.
And the famous steam clock.
Mostly historical buildings with old architecture.

Vancouver - beautiful, but very dangerous place.
But also forbidden :S
A few hours of forecasted dry weather seemed an opportunity to visit Whytecliff Park west of Vancouver.
Attractive place to live.
Approaching shower.
May I enter or not?
Scuba diving.
Tombolo is connecting Whyte Islet to the mainland.
Wind and waves on tombolo, which was at this time mostly under water.

Catching the sun rays.
In the right moment at the right place.

View towards Squamish.
Some to me unknown bushes.
Ilex aquifolium is here an invasive plant species from Europe.
Snowy slopes of Unnecessary Mountain.
Some houses with expensive cars suggest that this is a quite luxurious place to live.
Horseshoe Bay ferry terminal.
Entrance to Lighthouse park, which is few kilometers away, with a handful of prohibits and warnings.
The forest here was never cut down so there are many trees of impressive size.
As this douglas fir tree for instance.
Light house view point.
Rather a "trees in front of light house view point".
Lighthouse area which is closed for public.
Log cabins in the park.
Coast made of granodiorite.
The rain is approaching again.
The virgin rainforest.
Cut-down-tree sculpture.
At Juniper Point.
And the juniper tree.
Arbutus tree (Arbutus menziesii) with red bark.
Some wooden pathways.
A lot of firn again.
Rejuvenation.
Attention, a person with a pain in his back. Probably still with not so bad as this one: https://picasaweb.google.com/matejblatnik/GiroDItaliaII#5525025440400788850

This must be here for quite some time already.
Suspension bridge over Lynn River Canyon.
The canyon and a waterfall.

Again rain next day despite better weather forecast. Again on a way to North Vancouver with a ferry.
A-a. Rainy British Columbia.
This time uphill on Grouse Mountain. But the trail is closed.
Luckily, other hiker knew way around the fence.
Welcome to North America :S It was always obvious to me that I am the only one responsible for me during hiking.
Orange colour for a steep trail.
I am used to much less "staired" trails.
Conveyor belt.
Changing to escalators.
Well protected in case of slippage.
On a half way up.
First snow patches.
And finally some natural rock to step on :)
More and more snow.
...
And snow on branches.
What if I walk down backwards?
Almost there.
Cable car station and a restaurant.
Fogged in.
This is how the Grouse Mountain looks like when it is sunny.
Skiers here know what a good ski brand is :)
